Visit the web site THE AFFAIR
THE AFFAIR was formed 1998 for the Mods Mayday in 1999.
The front man was Ian Page former member of Secret Affair
Ian Jones on Bass and Jell Lee on guitar. Gary Page was on drums but left the band and was replaced by Bob Clarke. Sax players was always a problem but over the last few years Dave Winthrop the original sax player from Secret Affair and Super Tramp and sax teacher Andy Brush have been the main players for the last few years.
PROVE IT
Very surprised to see this site here after all this time and my name still being used on it (but misplelt) Anyone who visits this site needs to be aware that a)I am no longer a part of this band and b)I am not aware that this band still performs anymore If this site is being left here for historical purposes I understand but that should be made clear to people. I am very unhappy that songs I have written, unreleased material written soley by me is being made available on this site. While I appreciate that the boys did record these songs with me the creative copyright is mine and the songs are being used without permission. Come on guys after all this time surely enough is enough.Time's up? Ian Page
I could just start with "How's it going mate?" but there's a little something i need to get off my chest, in public as it were.
You are one of the finest, most professional, inately talented, mistake-free musicians i've ever worked with.
The only other bassman I've played with that compares to you is Simon Edwards - top session guy, played on Controversial Girlfriend and most of my album Catholic Guilt. You are his equal and more.
Late last year, to have learnt that Times set of deceptively simple songs for Spain - 15 of them in just under two weeks as you did - was no mean feat. You flew through it with flying colours with not the slightest hint of nerves.
This 'scene', such as it is, is so undeserving of you. You are such a lovely man who's deserved (and still deserves) much more from music. I hope these words of praise do not embarass you, prompt you to remove this comment, but encourages others to do the same as me.
Now then, where were we - ah yes, how's it going mate? o)
I'm off down the Goldhawk to do the soft shoe shovel . . .
Hey !!! Long time no see, but still think about you all..... Have a great Christmas and all the best for the New Year. Hope we get the chance to meet up sometime in the New Year maybe.....
Hi Ian! nice to hear from you, long time no speak! Unfortunately we are not going to Purple weekend, instead we are going to Barcelona to visit my family. I won't be going to mod/60s weekends for a while anyway, we are having a baby in March!! Have fun! xx
